Charlie Grant, age 47 from Bethnal Green owes his recent success of securing a fulltime job to ‘Work it Out’ - a 12 week work experience programme organised by NHS Tower Hamlets.
After being out of work for 5 years Charlie heard about the programme and decided to give it a try as a way of getting him back into the job market.
Charlie said: “During the work experience at the health centre I became more organised developed good communication skills and gained some more office skills.”
The work programme equips people with the experience and confidence to apply for jobs.
Charlie added: “I’d definitely encourage people to get on the programme - in fact I’ve already recommended one my friends to it.”
Working now as a membership co-ordinator for the People’s Supermarket, he is grateful for the skills he picked-up during his work experience as they proved to be useful in his current job.
