Back in work after eight years

Kasia Pinu, 34 from Poplar in east London, successfully landed herself a fulltime job after completing ‘Work it Out’ - the work experience programme run by NHS Tower Hamlets.

‘Work it Out’ gives Tower Hamlets residents the chance to gain up to thirteen weeks unpaid work experience in administrative roles in NHS Tower Hamlets.

During Kasia’s 12 week work placement as a receptionist at Whitechapel health centre she refreshed her office skills and learnt new ones such as how to use EMIS – an electronic patient appointment system.

Immediately after completing the programme she took up a full time role as an accounts assistant at London Trinity College.

Kasia, mother of two said: “As a single mum I was worried I wouldn’t be able to cope with a full time job especially as I’d been away from the workplace for eight years. The work experience helped put me back into the world of work and gave me the confidence I needed to get a job.”
